On Wednesday 6 May, we are delighted to welcome Richard J Smith, Brand Manager for Riedel, to Greendale for a special evening of beautifully paired wines and a menu where Lancashire meets Belgium.
Hosted in partnership with Riedel, guests will enjoy a carefully chosen selection of wines served in varietal-specific glassware and paired with five small plates created by Michael and Zoe.
This one feels especially close to our hearts, and we’ll be doing all we can to make it a memorable evening of food, wine and conversation.

Richard J Smith
With more than 35 years in the world of wine, Richard J Smith brings both deep expertise and a wonderfully engaging presence to every event he hosts.
WSET qualified, Richard led Wine School of Cheshire for 12 years before moving into his current role as Brand Manager for Riedel, regularly hosting tastings across the North of England, Scotland and Ireland. His background includes training at Norwich Hotel School, followed by positions with some of London’s most distinguished hotel groups, including the Lanesborough, the Savoy Group and Four Seasons Regent Hotels.
He is a gifted communicator, a generous host and someone with a genuine talent for making the world of wine feel both captivating and approachable.
